A Week Around Dubrovnik

A Week Around Dubrovnik

Everything about this holiday was a highlight!

First impressions; trouble free travel, a great hotel and beautiful, green countryside.
Sightseeing; the Old City of Dubrovnik is well worth a visit and a walk along the walls.
A boat trip to Kolocep and Lopud; we had our own chartered boat to pretty islands with peaceful walks to admire the superb views.

Walks; all had pretty wildflowers everywhere, with the lovely smell of broom in full bloom.
Free day; a leisurely ramble around the headland with stops for hot chocolate and local beer and a swim in the hotel pool and sunbathing in glorious sunshine.

Visits to Trsteno; an arboretum in a delightful setting running down to the sea. Ston, with its great wall and salt pans. Cilipi, with the lady at the church who told us a little about the homeland war, and from there a walk to the pretty village of Cavat then the ferry back to Dubrovnik.

A great holiday in a lovely setting with friendly locals, friendly Ramblers, and an efficient and helpful leader. Top marks all round!
